27.11.2019Talson's delivery to P&M Express

"Talson is the most versatile trailer in our fleet.”

Transportation company P&M Express from Tilburg recently took a new Talson trailer into use. It is the third Talson trailer for the company. The trailer is used for a variety of transport tasks.

P&M Express is a versatile courier company with a varied fleet of 25 small vans and 50 tractors with 100 trailers. The company will be 30 years old by 2020 and has grown into a company that only works with the best equipment. The company is active nationally and internationally and employs more than a hundred people.

Clothing and Air Cargo

P&M Express has a large number of customers. "Our customers are active in several sectors, such as the clothing sector. Others are active in air cargo or high-tech transport. Our trailers can also be used as TAPA TSR-1 vehicles.

We can serve them with our new trailer from Talson, which can transport both air cargo containers and hanging garments, the latter thanks to the Talfix® system. Because of this versatility, the trailer can be used much more efficiently," explains Patrick in 't Ven of P&M Express. "We work with loading and unloading shifts, and they are familiar with working with Talson trailers.

This saves time that is valuable not only for us, but also for the customer." In 't Ven explains that these types of cargo often have a relatively high value. "So our customers expect from us: safety first. This means that trailers should not be too easy to open. Talson can easily respond to these requirements."

Concept

"Talson's concept sounds like a clock," says In 't Ven. "Talson trailers last a long time. If there is any damage, they turn out to be repair-friendly. That has already proved to be an advantage compared to other trailers we have here." The P&M Express Talsons have an internal loading height of 2.80 metres. "That's more than enough for us, but it's a standard size for Talson."

The trailers are delivered on drum brakes, which are preferred by P&M Express. "These are easier to replace and appear to be advantageous in terms of cost," says In 't Ven. He continues: "For us, Talson is the best air cargo trailer; you can see this type of trailer as a standardized custom-made solution. We use the trailers intensively.

Then it turns out that they are also able to withstand a bit of stress. The roller conveyors always work, and if they are not necessary in the case of clothing transport, you can lower them. For the work we have, in the service to our customers, and witness the requirements of our customers with regard to safety, everything comes together well with Talson."
